3Gwireless'00 was extremely
successful with over 350 registered and over 200 attended in the conference due to very
space limitation. FYI, please see The
Photos as well as a
report in "Wireless Weeks". The conference slides will be available in the
"Conference Records" section to the Full Conference Registrants. Please stay
tuned before the conference server is upgraded and updated.
A New Book on BWM will be on the way to
publication by John Wiley & Sons. The "Call for Chapter Contribution" is
available at: http://delson.org/si/books/bwm.htm
.
The next year's
3Gwireless'2001 has been launched in IEEE Communications Magazine (June Issue).
3Gwireless'2001 will be the biggest and historic grand event on 3Gwireless and 4Gmobile
for the Convergence of Wireless and Internet. For details, please click this 3Gwireless'2001 link here.
The conference is
approaching. For those registered in advance, please pick-up your package in the everning
of June 13 or morning of June 14. If you have not paid the registration fee, please bring
your check, money order or draft and pay on-site. Credit card is not acceptable on-site.
The Proceedings of
3Gwireless'00 is now available. It will become the text book of 3Gwireless technologies.
For the ordering information, please contact Janny@delson.org.
The committee and organizers
are now working on the preparation of next year's 3Gwireless'2001- the worldwide biggest
technical conference on 3Gwireless and 4Gmobile. Please stay tuned for the upcoming
information about this continued great event.
The Honorable Mr. Fabio
Leite, Counsellor of IMT-2000 (3Gwireless) of International Telecommunications Union (ITU)
will be in Bay Area from June 14 thru 16 to address the grand openning of IEEE
3Gwireless'2000 in San Francisco. ITU is a United Nations specialized agency in
telecommunications and highest telecom authority in the world. If you are interested in
further discussion on 3Gwireless and Beyond (4G), please contact Chair Willie LU immediately to arrange the available slot.
3Gwireless'00 encourages the
participants to join IEEE and Communications Society to enjoy the registration discount on
this and following 3Gwireless events. IEEE members can also get discounts on other
wireless conferences, e.g. Globecom, WCNC, PIMRC, VTC, ICC.
Proceedings of
3Gwireless'00 has been awarded the ISSN No. 1529-2592 by US Library of Congress.
June will be the best season
in SF, especially in the beach area. Space is very limited, please make your room
reservation ASAP. Special rate is available until early of May, but the available rooms
will be taken FIFO.
Great news: we've got great
hotel with great location, great seafood and great weather for our great event. Thanks the
organizer for Job well done !
In addition to the technical
sessions and tutorials, we will have several other wonderful seminars including
"What's the special immigration policy for wireless professionals?"; "How
is the wireless job market in US"; "Wireless start-up and venture capital";
"Why the wireless stock will become the next storm?", etc.
Only those accepted papers
presented in the conference are eligible to be selected to appear in the IEEE Magazines or
Journals for the special issues on "3G Wireless and Beyond".
The Topic of
3Gwireless'00 is "3Gwireless and Beyond". As ITU Standards on IMT-2000 just came out early of November, lots
of submissions are implementation oriented and most of the contributions are very
innovative and never appeared previously in any of the publication medias.
It is really unbelievable
that there are so many good papers submitted to 3Gwireless'00. In the week of Nov 15 thru
19, we received over 50 papers everyday and there are still lots of authors requesting the
extension of the deadline.
Most of the wmATM'99
papers have been selected for the special issues in IEEE Communications Magazine (Nov.99),
ACM/Baltzer WINET (2Q00) and ACM/Baltzer MONET (2Q00). Many #1 Journals/Magazines are
already knocking the door of 3Gwireless'00 for special issues on 3G Wireless Technologies and Beyond.
3Gwireless'00 will publish
two proceedings: One for 3Gwireless'00; another for wmATM'00. Papers accepted for the
conference will be selected to these two proceedings.
IEEE Globecom'2000 will have
a key symposium on Broadband Wireless (incld. broadband wireless mobile - 3G/UMTS and
broadband wireless access). 3Gwireless'2000 will help enhance this event and promote each
other.
IEEE ComSoc will set up a
new Technical Subcommittee on Broadband Wireless. 3Gwireless'00 will be one of its
founding conferences.
In addition to IEEE JSAC
(Journal of Selected Areas in Communications) and IEEE ComMag (Communications Magazine),
selected papers from 3Gwireless'2000 proceedings will be recommended to appear in the IEEE
Network Magazine for Special Issue on Next Generation Wireless Broadband Networks.
3Gwireless'2000 is widely
supported by major telecom industries. To join the supporters' team, please e-mail to
wwlu@ieee.org.
Proposed by lots of wireless
experts, 3Gwireless'2000 will also cover the technical discussion on Broadband Wireless
Access Systems (WAS). A panel on WAS will be established in the conference.
In addition to the
links in IEEE, ACM and IEICE, ITU has linked 3Gwireless'2000 in IMT-2000 official site at:
http://www.itu.int/imt/5-meeting/e-ext.html
OR http://www.itu.int/imt/5_mtgs/other_mtgs.htm
IEEE JSAC will be interested
to publish the selected papers from the 3Gwireless'2000 proceedings. Details are in
progress.
To reflect the technical and
professional excellence of 3Gwireless'2000, most of 3G Wireless Pioneers and Leaders will
give feature talks at this conference. They include Dale from FCC, George from Lucent,
Bill from AirTouch, Javed from Nortel, etc.
3Gwireless'2000 will be one
of the major global events in Advanced Wireless Communications supported by IEEE, European
Commission, ATM Forum/WATM WG, UMTS, ITU as well as major telecom industries and telecom
authorities.
Selected papers from
3Gwireless'2000 proceedings will be converted to appear in IEEE related Journal or
Magazine later 2000 for the special issue on 3G wireless technologies. Also, COMNET, ACM
and IEICE will be interested in publishing the excellent papers from this conference.
